MANILA, Philippines — President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. expressed hope that the observance of the Al Isra Wal Mi’raj will encourage unity and perseverance within the nation.

On Sunday, Marcos joined the Muslim-Filipino group in commemorating Al Isra Wal Mi’raj, or the Night time Journey and Ascension of Prophet Muhammad.

In an announcement, Marcos underscored the importance of the event and the values it represents for Muslims.
